E) Market Share
The current market share for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire is 6.5% and over the past few years it has fluctuated from 8% to 4%. It is almost impossible to give the one correct reason why the market share is changing but one reason would be that the quality of the radio being produced is fluctuation, and people might not enjoy it so they can move back and forth. People aren't contractually obliged to listen to one certain station so if they don't like that's being produced, they can simply change the radio station.
One could argue that people are moving away from Cambridgeshire and would be too far away to listen in their cars but even more people are moving here Cambridge itself is actually getting bigger.

In the last 15 years, the radio share of BBC Radio Cambridgeshire has gone down by around 7%. As this has been a gradual decline in Radio Share, I would put this down to more competition rising against BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. The radio share will have spread across many more stations as the number of successful radio stations grow.
Another reason why less people are listening to the radio is because of emerging streaming apps like Spotify, YouTube & Apple Music which arguably have a lot more positives to them when compared to radio.

With a weekly audience of 124,000 listeners, BBC Radio Cambridgeshire are not too far off of their highest rating of weekly viewers with that being 155,000 in June of 2007.
Since 2007, podcasts have risen and are a new way of catching up with news throughout the week. With apps like YouTube being accessible for free, people are able to listen to music whenever they want to and that's something that radio can't do and people are migrating because of it.
